Covid-19 Update: Vaccine Requirements

Covid-19 Update: Vaccine Requirements

October 14th, 2021

Dear Family and Friends,

As you may have seen in recent news, The Provincial Health Officer issued an order

that requires all healthcare staff including long-term care and Assisted Living homes to be fully

vaccinated. There are many thousands of health care workers in BC and AB that have received

the vaccine and work so hard every day to provide love and care to the residents entrusted to

us.  They do see their role as a vocation and are passionate about what they do and the people

they care for.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Hamlets team members for their

continued compliance with the health orders. Our dedicated teams have taken the necessary

steps to ensure safety for all our residents and this includes many of our team members, whom

are fully vaccinated.

You may have seen in our recent memo, that The Provincial Health Officer has issued an order

requiring all visitors to also be vaccinated also. We will therefore be asking for proof of

vaccination every time any person comes to visit in addition to the regular health checks

(screening questions and temperature check) that have been in place for some time.

Please find detailed information on both of these directives:

We thank all of you for your continued patience and understanding as we weather the ongoing

Covid_19 waves and the necessary preventative measures.

Health care in BC has for some time experienced a shortage of healthcare workers. At The

Hamlets, the safe care of our residents and team members is our foremost priority. We are

constantly working to provide sufficient staff coverage in all areas, but this is a constant battle.

Working in healthcare is a very worthwhile and rewarding career and we continue, along with

many health care providers, to recruit and train new team members.

We compassionately recognize and understand how difficult these past months have been.

Together we are getting through this, and we thank you all for your understanding and support
